Weight gain-how much extra weight to add?

Even if you don't change wetsuit if you're becoming more whale shape your surface area/volume is increasing.

Reality is in the real world minor weight changes have no effect at all. 2 years ago i lost 2.5 stone in weight working in the summer and that resulted in a required diving weight change of errr. zero. nothing.

People often vastly over-estimate the amount of weight needed. The best solution is to do regular proper weight checks every few months and/or every time you change kit. Forget the formulae - they're worthless. Spend 2 minutes on a dive every few months properly calculating it.

you'd be surprised how little lead even fat obese bloaters actually NEED (as opposed to what they think they need). Only a proper check can tell you the correct figure.
