Hey, Doublebubbles,

Now that these guys are turning you into an alchemist/car salvage guy, I'll put my dos centavos in on the original question.

We have integrated wt BC's and have used both pouches and wt belt-type wts. Both worked fine! Frankly, I cannot tell the difference when I have my BC on in terms of comfort. I use about 10 lbs and maybe if I had to use more, I would notice...

I wonder if an old cast iron pot would do? Not sure where to lay my hands on a steel pot.

Cast iron is tres cool... er hot, er it works!!! Don't worry about ol' Joe, his camera gear weighs in at 60 pounds...

:tease:

You can get steel shot at gun/reloading stores and replace/make soft pouches. As you might already know the Hunters/Enviromentalists started getting rid of lead a few years ago, there is even a push to no longer use lead sinkers for fishing.

Cast Iron

hummm get me a torch!

No Pb, NetDoc,

I always steel myself for your heavy humor. Actually, my camera weighs in at 59.5 lbs, not 60.0 lbs and that makes all the difference!

Now, answer this: how did we get from lead wts to cast iron pots to using steel shot for diving wts? I'll let you handle the steel shot idea since everyone knows that you are shot anyhow...I t(rust) you can handle that issue with aplumb(sic).

And that GrossDoc...oops, NetDoc, is that....

Joewr...back home and getting used to the slings and arrows of outrageous Floridians..............

I also would think steel shot would not be a good choice due to corrosion problems. Unless maybe it is coated (like lead shot) used in diving weight bacgs.
