I have a Dive-Rite back plate and harness a #30 venture wing for single the an SS STA, And a Deep outdoors #40 wing for doubles AL 80's. I am running 12 pounds for doubles and 14 for singles. Same day same water temp same wetsuit. Is this right?

2 near empty AL80's are twice as buoyant as one near empty AL80, so you'd except to need more weight with the doubles than with a single +/- the weight difference between the STA for single tank v. extra first stage and/or tank bands, manifold... for doubles...

The relationship between the numbers sounds about right. I expected the doubles to take more weight, but the wing change (and maybe a backplate change) could account for that.

The second cylinder adds about four pounds positive. The difference between the two valves and a manifold would be a few pounds negative plus the addition of bands and a second regulator for another few pounds negative. That totals to within a pound or two of no change.

Since the exposure protection did not change, it is not an issue in this case.

The only thing I am changing is the wing going from a #40 doubles to a #30 single. THe dive-rite bands are heavy and I am using a scubapro manafold and extra reg. I think the STA is 1 pound.
