I started diving doubles for a short while and got my weighting nailed. I love doubles because I prefer to one one long dive instead of two short ones, but occassionally, I still dive single, say in rec charter, or diving with non DIR buddies. Everytime I switch, I have to mess with the tri-glide, change weight on the belt. I found it troublesome. How do you guys do it?

Here is my weighting:
single - small H SS plate (~4lb), STA (2.5lb), X7-HP100, 16lb of lead (12 on belt, 4 on lower cam band)
double - same SS plate, double LP80, 8lb belt, no v-weight.

4lb differences on the belt.

DSS weightplates on the singles BP. I hated moving weights on the belt.

Multiple belts. Lead is cheap on CL. Or use an Xscuba Velcro pouch threaded onto the belt for the 4lb difference.

Aaron, get another weight belt. i even have one for you :)

thank you Andrew and everyone else. I went weight counting and realize I have accumulated enough weight for a 2nd weight belt. The lead may not be all the same color, but should work. I just need to pick up a buckle. All seem easier than I have imagine. different weight belt for single and double. :)

I would say to avoid weight belts and put everything in cam bands or the backplate, but then rjack will remind me of the time my poor little wing couldn't keep up after I doffed my equipment in-water to clamber into his Zodiac....

So - weight on the plate, but not too much!

I have two belts set up, so I only have to grab the correct one. Makes life easy.
