Billy if we park where we usaully park there shouldn't be a problem they can't close off that parking lot to stop us from leaving. The park can't stop you from leaving. I say we do Leo.

John

If that's the case I'm down for sure. Reserve America told me that you're locked in after 10PM. And the curfew on PCH I was told about by another diver a few weeks ago. If we can do a night dive there I'll be stoked. The problem is that it's impossible to get in touch with (at least from my efforts) someone who has a direct relation with the camp grounds and or day use area.

Christian, do you know what the parking on PCH, parking lot, and traffic restrictions are at Leo?

Hey Billy,

I know that they lock the gate for the Day Use area at 10pm, but I can't visualize if that includes the "exit" or just the incoming lane. For some reason I seem to remember that it does lock all access in and out, but I'm pretty fuzzy about it and may be wrong.

Here is a number that I've used in the past to actually reach someone who works there: 805-488-1827

Hope that helps.

Christian

I say we just meet there! PCH at 7:30pm. It is too late to change the location. there are a few others from my site that are going to be there.
I will arrive earlier and talk to someone at the gate or that are driving around.

Rick

Where exactly are we going to meet?

Thanks Christian, everyone I talked to in parks and rec pointed me to this number in Calabasas which always led to a dead end. I'll keep trying this number until I can reach an actual live human.

I just dialled it and got exactly what you're talking about. After about 10 rings it drops the call and goes to a fast busy signal.

I believe that this is actually the phone that leads directly to the people working there, but they spend more time out and about than anywhere near the phone.

I've used it in the past and had people answer, but I believe that was in the winter when they probably had less to do.

Good luck and I hope you all have a great time!

I'll be thinking about the fun you are all having while I'm working. :eyebrow:

Well I've got potentially good news. After calling the rangers office 10 times, malibu sheriff dept, CHP, parks and rec and then back to rangers office I finally got some solid answers. There is no "gate" for outbound traffic for the Leo campgrounds but we can get cited for parking past 10 in that area. We can avoid this citation by informing the individual at the gate that will will be diving and will be leaving after 10:00PM. Nowhere in the Leo area are you allowed to park on PCH past 10:00PM. This was confirmed by parks and rec, and CHP. So the day use lot it is. I'm not sure on how much the parking fees are though, maybe they'll cut us some slack, we'll see.
