weekend of diving from Singapore

Alan would like to do the White Manta live aboard...makes much more sense. we have done live aboard in the Red Sea before.

Is trying to contact the Singapore office number, but it's Saturday so maybe they are closed ? Can you clarify one point ? Irish citizens need a visa for Indonesia, can he get one on arrival? It would appear from the Indonesian Embassy website that you can only be issued with visa on arrival at point of entry in Indonesia, so unsure of what happens if you are travelling from Singapore ?
He just need to be sure of this before he books it! He doesn't have enough time to obtain a visa from London .

Sorry, I was diving this weekend and I just got back. Yes, your husband will be able to get his Indonesian visa when we arrive in Batam. That is an Indonesian island about an hour's sail away from Singapore. We have to stop there before heading up to the Anambas islands.

An expensive one.... KLM does return fares from Singapore / Bali for as cheap as S$253 (131 GBP). Decent plane, decent food, some decent service, usually half full flight, not always the best timing but cheap.

Actually sounds kind of high, there should be budget options on Tiger air or somebody else, maybe jetstar

He has booked with white manta to do the 3 night live aboard....is really looking forward to it. max from white manta extremely helpful when we were booking it.

He is one lucky diver! He spends 80% of his time on planes.....so has little time to research stuff...I was a travel agent in Ireland way back so know ways of short cutting thru the mounds and mounds of info!

He is looking forward to his first trip on White Manta...if he likes it, I will go the next time...looks like there are only 4 spaces left so it might be sold out by the time the weekend comes.

Will let you all know how he got on.....currently out of mobile phone coverage...spoke to him on Friday, he had been on white manta 2 hours and thought it was brilliant...dive guides were European which reassured him somewhat...he was very excited !

Alan had a fantastic weekend of diving on White Manta....really impressed by the crew, dive guides in particular, food, everything. diving was great. saw black tipped sharks and turtles....would highly recommend White Manta....thought it was very well organized and very professional which is important for diving. Most of the 36 divers were ex pats which suited him too.

I believe Zippsy greeted him on Friday evening with the words ' you have a great wife who organized this for you ' !!!!.....

He is looking forward to doing it again. Thanks for all the info.
