I would place a soft weight in the housing in a sock or something padded and take it on a dive. Work all the control plungers several times while on the dive. Another option is a local dive shop if they have a pressure testing device.
This company has a red filter lens for $70. I used this one at one time prior to losing it. It is a plastic lens. The glass one is much more expensive. Personally, I don't think you need it. Using manual white balance on your camera for no-strobe shots then adjusting them in Photoshop or similar program will yield good results.
 
I've been doing some reading on adjusting the white balance, making it look more red. I tried this with the camera, very easy to find, but I suppose I'll have to make the dive to actually get it right. I've finally got the housing and just very excited to get it wet, and try it out.
