Hey Guys,

Is there an address for this dive site that I can plug in the GPS? I'll be there, hopefully the vis will clear for us this week.

Zach

I would type into the city of Malibu, CA and input in to the nav system the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Escondido Beach Road.

Unfortunately I'm not gonna be able to make it that evening. Hope everyone has a safe and fun dive!

Time In: 6:30p
Bottom Time: 55min
Viz: 5-10' average w/ murky 1' intervals
Temp: 53 degrees
Max Depth: 27'

Showed up late & Zach was already scouting the entry. Pretty tame ankle slapppers with the occasional 2' rolling in. We suited up and went in. As we were swimming out to the kelp @ the first reef we saw some little fish jumping about-- they were small like grunion, but I don't know what they were. We hit the kelp and dropped down into very murky 1-2' viz. It opened up to about 5' in the reef and we were actually able to stay together as we headed out to the outer reef. We got separated at the outer reef but surfaced & found each other right away. Grabbed a few shorties, but nothing legal so the bag stayed vacant. Saw some very cool little jellyfish, an octopus, a bunch of crabs and the assorted rockfish. A little ridge cover with strawberry anenomies & gorgonions looked like it would be teaming with bugs, but alas, not a-one hidden in the recesses... Lots of little gobies-- again looked like grunion-- burying themselves vertically in the sand waiting for some Valentine's day lovin'! Fun dive-- thankful it opened up after diving into the murky depths. Z told me on the last night dive that pulling fins off his dry suit was a pain, and as he got one off he was clobbered by one of the few biggins on the shore & another fin was offered up to Neptune! I think I'm bad luck on these night dives, I might have to cut them out-- after lobster season ends! :eyebrow:
