Hi all,
Just wanted to ask what this browning is on my Halcyon webbing? Only occurring at areas of high pressure with triglides, STA slots etc. The bc was manufactured in 2015, but looked pretty much new when i bought it second hand in 2024. Is it something that can be cleaned off, and if so how? I wash it after every use. Cheers

I have been known to apply dye or marker pen to bcs when chlorine has sucked out the colour and faded them

Does it get frequent use in a pool? I suspect it's chlorine that's not getting rinsed away properly.
Do you hang it in the sun? Direct UV also has a bleaching effect.

Thanks for the help. I actually wasn't aware that the black wasn't the natural colour of the material. It does occasionally get pool time for the odd course but the amount of chlorine in that pool will make my silver ring go black so I'm sure it's just the harsh chemicals. I think i might leave the colour as is though if it doesn't compromise the webbing durability. Adds texture:)

Not frequent, but occasional pool time. We have very strong chemicals in there so probably that. Rinsed out after every use and never dried in direct sun.

That webbing tends to label you as an "experienced diver" to those in the know. Of course, your actions in the water may or may not change that assessment 😀
