Can anyone tell me what weather to expect around the Great Barrier Reef during February. I was thinking of planning a trip around that time, but have just read to be careful of cyclones etc. We're coming from Europe so want to spend as much time as possible underwater! We'll have 3 weeks or so, so a few days of bad weather won't be a total nightmare.

Good Morning from Cairns Joli,

Febuary can be very unpredictable regarding Rain and High Winds. Cyclone season this year was very quiet and had no effect for divers whatsoever.

Having as much time as you write is a huge advantage on many fronts.

Firstly you will have many good choices of boats and pricing will be excellent, great value for your dives.

Secondly.... having as many dives as you do, you will be able to handle it all.

Maybe, the only bummer to consider is the Hobby of photography that you have could mean that we have average visability if its wet and windy and that will effect some of your shots.

Water Temperature however is going to be quite warm, so some deep diving could be rather enjoyable with a 3mm all that is required.

Have Fun

Andy
