Thanks for posting this after I just watched Monsters in the River on The Animal Planet.

I considering buying a baby pool to dive in this summer.:D

Thanks for the post; its quite interesting all we don't know about our waters.

pffffssss.....8,500 feet.....that's nothing.....who's coming with me? I've done deeper dives with no tank, solo, and in split fins.
Don't even mention the approximate depth in meters....it'll prob just annoy someone who doesn't appreciate rounding ;-)

Haha The baby pool I just bought from Walmart is deeper than that.:D

Thanks for posting this! A Giant Isopod, go figure. The scariest thing I saw underwater was an oar fish. It swam buy me when I was doing a saturation dive at around 700'. It scared the hell out of me; a scene from some hollywood production or something. They are worm-like without any scales; this one was over 30 feet long and about 2 feet wide. It swam through the lights from the Bell and went into the blackness; it really freaked me out as I had no idea what it was at the time.

Edit: Photo added (from the Internet). I guess this is a small one. :-)

Nah....that was narcosis

Were you under the influence of saturation at the time ?

I was breathing Heliox and wasn't drinking before the dive, if that's what you mean. :)

Ok if those are down there where do I find pressure rated ammo for my 45:D
