Yep, I agree.Isnt buying the shark off them giving them the incentive to catch more to make more money,i understand them buying them to release which is good but I guess that was one way of addressing the problem
For the legal fishermen, make it all illegal.
Letters and complaints have been sent out to SEMARNAT (Mexican equivalent of EPA), PROFEPA (another gov't agency for environmental protection), SAGARPA (equivalent of Fish & Wildlife) and there has been no response from any of them (other than to say that it's out of their jurisdiction). There is one fisherman in particular who boasts online about how many sharks he kills on a daily basis (he claims that in August it was in excess of 100 sharks), and nobody seems to be able or willing to stop him..
