beezwax:deformed? This is truly troubling. I don't know what it is about WD40 but it is one of my favorite smells.

For me , the scent of "Gun Scrubber" gets me every time.

We do not know the credentials of the unknown Inst, much less have him here to stand trial and explain, so this is all pretty silly.captain:I have used WD -40 externally on my regulators and tank valves for
30+ years. My newest regulator is 25 years old and looks almost new. I have tank valves that are 50 years old and look almost new.
I'm not saying your dad was wrong. There was a misunderstanding - it was wartime, stories got passed.noobascooba:not that it matters, but I think the WD stands for war department, not water displacement... cos the british military invented it to keeps killing machines shiney and mobile.
So my dad tells me anyway.
Just felt like joining in![]()

Anyways, I see an instructor spray WD-40 into regs students were about to use
Reportedly - perhaps the scene viewed looked other than it was...?RiverRat:I understand Don, but note the old timer used WD-40 EXTERNALLY. If the info is accurate this guy used it INTERNALLY.
DandyDon:Maybe I'm just shellshocked from the way these threads explode so often here...?
Yeah you got here a month before me. Mostly you are more patient, I think. :14:RiverRat:Not me...I've been around SB long enough now to know what threads are gonna blow![]()
timegan::no I was taking a work safety course. During all the topics covered...was a part on spraying the stuff on your body joints. I did not believe the instructor, people actually spray it on arthritic parts of the joints.......knees, elbows, you name it. They swear by it. She went on to tell us how deadly this can be. Long term chronic, that sort of thing. AND thats absorbed only threw the skin! Inhale it at your own ?????(whats a good word for it)??
I LOVE WD-40. It is indespensible. I am sure Homeland Dufous-ence or some other bizzare agecy will try to outlaw it. N
