Waxing zippers

I wax mine when it's open so that I can get to the parts of the zipper that make contact with each other, and I wax before every dive day.

Whether that's best or not, I dunno.
 
Thanks for the link, good procedure. I use a non-tacky wax like the blocks you can get in craft stores. Sand sticks to the tacky stuff. Warm up a chunk of plain paraffin wax in hot water and form it into something you can grip easily. lay the zipper on one hand for support and wax with the other. I use this method to make sure that I do not abuse the little strip of fabric above the zipper, it will fray very quickly. Wax at the end of every day's diving, zippers last a long time if you take care of them.
