Salt water doesn't hydrate a human body, and you don't want to be injesting most of the fresh water you come across :) (so even if it makes you feel a little better, its really not a good idea)

SCUDA is pretty cool, but I've heard of people just bringing regular water bottles, popping out their regs and squirting some water in. I would think you could carry quite a bit more than a SCUDA system, and you wouldn't have to worry about the additional point of failure of another attachment to your mouthpiece.
