Is it normal for some water to get inside your bc's air cell? Did a dive today and seemed like alot got inside. I do not have any leaks anywhere. Just wondering if this normal or not.

Very normal. If you go to dump air and nothing comes out, water will go in.

If you're diving salt water, be sure to rinse the inside of your BC with fresh water a few times, otherwise the salt crystals will harm your bladder. If you're diving with freshwater, just dump it out.

It is normal to take on some water. If you hold the hose up and the deflate button depressed (underwater) after all the air's out, you'll be taking on water. I don't usually find more than half a cup in there after an hour's dive, but I've heard of much more.

I had this problem quite a bit. I was diving under-weighted and was always trying to dump air from the bladder when there was nothing to dump! I still tend to get small ammounts of water in the bladder though. No more than half a cup, as said earlier. Just make sure to rinse the inside of the bladder with fresh water after each dive. I recently rinsed out a rental bc at my LDS and found very large salt crystals inside from salt water sitting in there too long.

yes dont worry about it ....just rinse inside real well.

if you are nervous at taking off the air dumps on your bc...get your lds to show you. that allows water in and out much easier then trying to get it down the hose and back out the hose again....

I have found it easy to remove fresh water from my BC by filling it with air just befor removing it and pulling the lower dump valve. If you lean so that the valve is the lowest point on the BC all of the water will run out.
It's a lot easer than oraly inflating it and hugging it to your chest like I was taught.

Normal -Suggest you leave your power inflator attached to vest and tank- inflate the vest and hold it upside down so one of your dump valves is down. Hit the power inflator button to maintain pos pressure inside the vest and pull the downside dump valve at the same time. This will literally blow the water out. If you're diving salt water, spray a little fresh water in the vest, swish it around then blow it back out the same way.

Quite normal, when I first started diving I would usually dump a good cup of water per dive. After some experience with my equiptment and buoyancy control I find little water at all. If you have alot of water in your bc bladder then you may want to check if your properly weighted. Do you find yourself constantly adding and dumping air during a dive?

For the salt water, you definitely want to make sure to get that out. The crystals can slowly tear away at the inside of the BC bladder. I usually taste the water after the rinse to make sure it's not salty. Just don't swallow. First it's bad for you and second, people never look at you the same if they think you are drinking straight out of your BC.

Love it.
