I bought a nitek 3 computer about a year ago and when I did my first quarry dive of the season, I started to notice some condensation inside the screen after several minutes of puting it underwater. I surfaced and stored it out of the water. Now I understand that cold water can cause condensation if water is already in there. What should I do? Thanks for your time.

Call Dive Rite, their service is excellent.

Just did.....I sent them a e-mail. Thanks for the recommendation.

I recommend you call or e-mail Dive Rite Express, as my experience has not been that service is consistently 'excellent' from Dive Rite directly. I have had consistent good results and prompt communication with Dive Rite Express for support of Dive Rite items.

However, a member of the Dive Rite management did join the Scubaboard community, goes by KVDiver here, and signed his one and only post as Jerry. So, if you call Dive Rite, you could mention you're a member of Scubaboard and ask to speak with KVDiver / Jerry on your issue.

My wife & I both have owned & used DR NiTek3's for a number of years now, and we haven't had an issue similar to yours, but we don't routinely dive in 'cold' water (no surprise if you see my 'handle' on Scubaboard).

I talked with Dive Rite and they were very concerned about my computer and extremely helpful. My question is what they will probably do with my computer since they do not make the Nitek 3 computer anymore. Will they send me a new one from their stock or another computer like the HE? Thanks.

Well, Dive Rite did a great job and sent my computer back really fast :D I was worried that I would be sitting without it for a while, but they did a superb job. I will let you know if they solved the problem tomarrow when I test it out.

Well, I tested out my computer and what do you know.....success. Not any condensation or water spots found on the inside of the screen. I felt pretty optimistic that Dive Rite would fix the problem and they definently did. Very helpful and respectful people.
