I don't check dates... I look at the calendar of flights over the months I'm thinking about.. But , I understand that if you look at the same flight every time that the computers at the airlines would some how see it as a means to raise the fare.. I find it harder to see how the airlines could use data from matrix or google flights to increase a seat price on one flight when I'm looking at 3 airlines and 30-60-90 days at a time..

I misunderstood. I thought you were checking prices through travel sites not directly through the airlines. That I'm not sure about. But, with the travel sites, they buy up huge blocks of seats a year in advance for rock bottom prices. As they see an up-tick in demand, they jack up the price (the whole supply and demand thing) because they know if the demand is high, they can get away with charging more for the tickets. And, that's how they make their money. A boat load of money.

And no, $500-600 isn't bad round trip to Bonaire. My daughter is getting ready to sell tickets to a Ravens/Titans game because the flight was going to run $1000 each.
