re: Timex Helix

Are there different models? I looked on ebay and there are a large variety of Helix styles and colors, but some of them look like they are ment for other activities such as climbing or running. I am looking at a good watch that won't break the bank. I am looking at a computer so I don't want to spend a fortune on a watch.

If you go to ebay, search under "timex helix dive"

As of 1230 today, there were three on there

The cheapest solution (to get past the 100' limit on your Pathfinder) may be to change it to measure meters. I had a Casio watch with a depth gauge that measured to 99... and didn't care if that was feet or meters.

I'd say it's worth checking, if you're cheap and/or don't like throwing out gear that works.

It's the Timex Helix DM, we have 4.

It auto starts at 5 feet but you need to have it in one of the dive modes. You also need to remember to lock it as neoprene will easilly activate buttons stopping the timing. All in all it's a handy novice timer, timepiece or back-up.

In addition to dive time and yime of day it shows depth and temperature.

I last got some for $20 at Walmart, sealed but dusty packages.

Thanks for all the good info, looks like I will...
1. Try the meters trick
2. Look for a Helix on e-bay
3. Think about an Aqualand
4. Hope for a Nereos for b-day

That St. Moritz is basically a re-labelled Citizen Aqualand Model: JP1040-09E, as already posted above. If you buy it as a Citizen it will be a lot less money and more readily available. (although that Nereos looks good in all black)

I use a Citizen Hyper Aqualand as my backup, worth every penny and even use it's download feature for my profiles.
