No, I still look just like my avatar picture (at least according to those who recognize me from it).

It's just that I may be retiring my current wetsuit in the near future. It only has 400-500 dives on it so far, and the legs haven't fallen off nor has the butt been patched yet. I guess it still has a lot of life left in it before it becomes a Catalina Classic like my M&B.

I was diving the park for my interview with The Weather Channel 10 days ago. I was finally diving with an old friend and new (finally) dive buddy, Heather (see my profile picture... that's Heather, but just so her reputation doesn't get tarnished we are simply dive buddies, nothing more... yet).

When we surfaced, one of Heather's ex BF's (a friend of mine and the guy who introduced me to her) came up with a Tilos semi-dry wetsuit in darned good shape. He said it looked like I needed a new wetsuit and he had three others he preferred.

Not sure if he did this for my benefit (I did "save his life" according to him by pointing out I thought he had embolized after a dive a few years ago), or for Heathers. But what the heck... I've got a new wetsuit. Once I switch from my curent Tilos to this one, I'll try to get the "new" one "broken in" (literally) as soon as possible so you can recognize me. Or just look for the diver flailing around on the bottom trying to get better video of that swell shark hidden deep in the wreck of the SueJack (or was it the lovely lady who just cruised by in her dry suit?).

Now, aren't you glad you read this meaningless thread? Bet you thought I was going to have some pearls of wisdom in it. Not true, but after I clean up the invasive Sargassum filicinum alga from the dive park, I may go after the winged pearl oysters (Pteria) that arrived from Mexico a while back and see if I can get a few decent pearls to win the heart of that dry suit clad lovely...

Man, you are the island stud puppet and I was worried that you had fallen down and lost your mojo. . .

In your heroic pursuits of saving lives, and damsel-fish, we now see that you have new armour.

Go Bill go!

Nah, the last new suit was probably 500 dives ago... almost two years.

Just got the wetsuit back from our local upholstery shop. They charged me a pittance ($10) to fix the zipper and it's all ready to go. Now if I could just get Heather back here to dive!

Hey there, Dr Bill. Were you diving this past Saturday or Sunday? If so I may have seen you, I was with my OW class doing dives for certification. And if not, I do recall seeing a reference to "the infamous Dr. Bill" posted on a board at Flip's. Well, just thought I'd say hello!

Yes, I was diving at Casino Point both days this weekend since the King Neptune didn't go out.

I think the referenbce you saw was on the bulletin board outside SCUBA Luv (which operates the King Neptune). It refers to "the infamous Dr. Bill discussing his next 8,604th dive." Of course it is a joke... I don't have quite that many dives (even in my dreams).

Hope you enjoyed the conditions. Towards the "end" of the day Sunday I mucked things up a bit by pulling out a lot of the invasive Japanese alga in the park.

Congrats DrBill! That is great news! Let me know your size...I'm thinking I have several wetsuits that might fit you as well! ;) They are mens and when I was diving wet I used to layer suits to stay warm...I have LOTS of suits...now that I dive dry...they are all very new-ish but taking up space! Let me know! :)

I knew it was about you getting a new suit the moment that I read the title :rofl3:

Congrats on the suit, nice thing he did
... What color is it? ... hope it doesn't clash with pink ;)

Gee, WW... I wear a men's XL but I'm guessing yours are a bit more petite than that!

The new suit is all black. None of that darned blue fabric that disintegrates after 25-250 dives!

However, I'm still wearing my old suit... the legs haven't fallen off it yet. The last two were officially retired (except for summer use) when their legs fell off.
