We are going diving at Long Point (Old Marine Land) Palos Verde Pennisula at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning. Want to come along?

I was there yesterday and the diving was good.

Note, there is a movie set being built there, so turn left just as you get to the parking lot, drive back to the Catalina Room then turn right to the end of the parking lot.

Newbies allowed too? Or is it too difficult a dive for that?

Newbies are welcome. Long Point is a good newbie dive off the pebble beach. Our fall back site, if Long Point is not divable is Malaga Cove, another excellent new diver site. Be prepared to walk down and up hill a ways in full kit. That is standard operating proceedures in SoCal beach diving.

I was one of the 4 that dove with Melvin at Long Point last Friday. It was a blast and recommended highly. BTW, the walk up and down is just that, a walk, not a billy goat climb. The path is an old road that is easily navigated with dive gear. Gotta go on a business trip on Monday or I'd probably be out there again!
