Hi all.

My wife and I are going to Wananavu over Thanksgiving. We are pretty fired up about it. This will be our first diving outside the Caribbean. Does anyone have any pictures of the resort (or underwater) they would like to share? What about renting a car? We are thinking about it. Anything else we should know?

Thanks.

Had a wonderful time this past December at the Resort, and diving the Bligh Waters with Kaiviti Divers. Would recommend arranging a shuttle to take you from the Airport at Nadi all the way up North to the Resort --roughly about a 3 hour trip. Renting a car would be nice, but after such a long Flight from Mainland US, I would want at least a couple hours of rest upon arriving, before setting out on the long road trip up to Wananavu. . .

I'm headed (for the 4th or 5th time) for Wananavu in about 10 days. If you'll email me after July 3, I'll send you a brief report - no underwater photos, though. In the meantime, I can email you a brief report or two in PDF format from previous visits, but the diving had always been with Crystal Divers, not Kai Viti Divers. However, all the reports I get on Kai Viti have been enthusiastic.

As for photos of the resort, check out Wananavu's Web site. I haven't looked at in years, but it used to have a bunch of pictures. I can assure you marvelous views of sunrise and sunset from their deck. In any case, you'll enjoy it.

I did once rent a car in Fiji for a day during a layover in Nadi. Pricey. I am interested only in diving and relaxation while at Wananavu, but I don't think there's much to see in the area. The resort used to run day trips to beaches, shopping, Fijian villages, etc., but I have no idea whether or not that practice continues since ownership has changed.

If you pm me your address, I can e-mail some pictures both above and below the water.

Does anybody know how far it is from the Rakiraki hotel to Wananavu? I'm going in late August. Wananavu's least expensive rooms were already booked. MaryJane from Dolphin Destiny got me a good rate at the Tanoa Rakiraki.

as far as diving photos, these are what I found:

No more than 10 minutes in a taxi (which should be no more than 5 bucks).

I have but I'm not showing you them! It's bloody lovely above and below the water line.
