Wakatobi as good as it seems?

My loves are Raja Ampat on liveaboard and Bangka with a number of repeats to both. I love corals. While I do enjoy macro and carry a magnifying glass, it's not my passion.

I'm not a foodie but after 10-18 days at Murex Bangka, I've been delighted to get to Lembeh Resort for the food, if nothing else.

Last time I was a Bangka, they had just started the new builds. I always stayed in one of the beachfront duplexes. I found the bathroom of the older units to be grubby and the ac didn't cool the room to my need.

I believe that a duplex unit would still suit me, even though they'll be 5 years older. That said, what is the fascination with open ceiling bathrooms in Indonesia? Swatting mosquitoes and showering at the same time is a serious drag.

Oh, I should add that I don't really enjoy Bunaken, so I've kept that portion of the Passport down to a couple of days.

The new premium oceanfront cottages at Murex Bangka do not have open air bathrooms, they have windows that can be opened if desired and have a door to the balcony, which I found really useful for getting into the shower after diving without traipsing through the bedroom. These cottages are of a very high spec, on a par with Lembeh Resort's premium cottages.
