Okay since I respect every ones oppionions around here, I figure I might ask for something that might be worth asking. Since I've only lived in this area for 4 years I've only been to the WA coast once, and that was to Ocean Shores, which I found kinda dull, but I only went to one area.

So this is the question I have. My girl friend has never been to the WA coast, I've only been once. I dont intend on doing any diving, this is a Valentines weekend getaway type thing. So where is the best place to go and spend a weekend away, that has a few things to see, good food, stuff to do, shops etc... And okay in pricing. And is on the pacific coast, we want to see the mighty pacific, in washington no doubt.

This is just my opinion, but I personally MUCH prefer the Oregon Coast to the WA coast. If you want a nice romantic getaway, go someplace like Cannon Beach or Depoe Bay. Cannon Beach has the shopping that women like, and more walkable beach. Depoe Bay has a spectacular rocky shore that is very impressive this time of year with the storms that come in. Much more appropriate if you're going to be staying in.

You might also consider going to Forks and Quilliute reservation. They have some beautiful cabins right on the beach. Not a lot to do besides walk on the beach, sit in front of the fire looking at the waves coming in. It's also only about 3 hours away instead of 5.

When I use to do those Valentiny types of things (maybe one of these days again)...

Kalaloch www.visitkalaloch.com is a very nice place. Not very much to do as far as shopping, but the beaches are great and it is quite romantic.

Other than that or going camping at Ozette which has nothing but nature and views Jimmie is right. Oregon has more stuff to do.

But Kalaloch is a very cool place to go with someone you really really like :)
