Rush once bubbled...

No need to worry about having burst my bubble, as I was merely addressing the fact that the term Indiglo was being used inappropriately. Delta P uses a different system than a $ 10 watch. The electro luminous screen on the VR3 is said to have a life of 5 years CONSTANT USE. But that is neither here nor there, as I haven't noticed a significant reduction in brightness in my VR3
and it is bright enough for me to read it. And if after another year or so of use, I find that the backlight is significantly dimmer, I guess to boost your ego, I will make a post stating that your Kung Fu is better than mine !:D :D :D :D :D

Have fun and dive safe !

Doesn't matter to me either way..
The technology is basically the same, My unit is definately dimmer than when I purchased it (dec 2001) and if put side by side with a new unit, you can really see the difference. Temperature also effects these types of displays.. They need more current to get the same brightness, and since cold reduces the effectiveness of the battery its a double whammy. They would have been better off going with a simple backlight display or use the high intensity lighting that cochran uses..

I agreee I kinda unsed the term inappropriately, but I guess its the same as telling someone to xerox something rather than make a photo copy.

Don't get me wrong I think the VR3 makes a wonderful backup unit.. If someone is going to follow their computer instead of carefully preplanning a dive more than one computer is necessary.
