Clay, I thought you were planning on eating at Sally's Friday night? If things have changed, don't forget to remove your order from the Menu thread.

I am no longer going on the off-shore trip, and will be looking for some dive buddies as well. Morrison's won't be "officially" open, but the boat ramp is real close!

Tides for Saturday and Sunday:
St Andrews - Low tide @ 10:40 (Sat) and 12:10 (Sun)
Destin - Low tide @ 11:56 (Sat) and 1:26 (Sun)
High tides for each day is just after midnight.
I am still going to Sally's. Would not miss it. Myself,Andy(DEnises son) and Andrew(Andys friend) are heading either to Destin or PC jetties Saturday. Want to ride with us?

P.S. I too would be up for a Morrison's dive if possible.

I spelled Friday just like you spell Saturday. I will arrive FRIDAY around noon.

If y'all can tolerate me, count me in.

Anytime Squid

I'm good for that. I intended a night dive at Springfest also, but; well, you know, me and the wife was sittin' next to ya at Sally's. I didn't recover from that late night gluttony until noon the next day.:shakehead: :doh2:
So understand
Funny you should say that. My last 12 dives had been in a cave and when Stasia and I decided to do some practice drills in the basin Saturday I was like, "What is that?"...it was the daylight. :D

I've said the same thing before.

Capt Grumby, I'd be up for a Morrison dive sometime if it doesn't intrude with me getting back home :)
Count us in as well.

I'll be coming in Saturday morning and likely heading to Marianna until the afternoon. I HOPE to get a good cave dive in at Vortex either Saturday evening/night or possibly on Sunday morning. Would be up for Morrison either in the afternoon Saturday or Sunday(whichever I don't hit Vortex during).
I'm in for the Vortex cave dive again as well.

I'm willing for my 1st Jetties dive on a Saturday. Do I need to bring a float and flag for the Jetties?
I am sure someone will have one, If not we can find one. I am planning 2 dives if I am going to make the hike, I am going to make it worth the trip.:D

PerroneFord:
Well,

Looks like I can't make it after all. I've tried every way I know to make this work and I just can't do it. Sorry everyone, I hope you all have a blast.
You will be missed.

willardj - when you gettin sidemount brotha?! :D

Not sure yet. I tend to buy a lil at a time. It's the only way to not get killed by the wife. I just picked up a Dry suit. A sidemount rig is on the list though.

I am sure someone will have one, If not we can find one. I am planning 2 dives if I am going to make the hike, I am going to make it worth the trip.:D

If I can manage to squeeze it into our jam packed van of goodies, mostly beer and gear and maybe a tent, then I can bring our dive flag float.

Do we need a dive flag for Morrison? I guess that would definitely get the attention of someone if we were doing something we weren't supposed to!!!! he he he....

We will most likely hang around with the kids at Vortex (site 8) and dive the jetties some other time, but you never know, I change my mind like the tide..... and I've still haven't done a dive in salt water. I might get an aversion to it if I don't dive it soon!!!

Hello all,
My wife, Johnny Mac, and I have been working out the intricate details of the contests for this weekend. I have some awesome prizes to give away and now have a headache from dealing with all the sponsors, rules, and the like......YUK! I look forward to the commencement of the activities and will enjoy watching everyone have a good time (I hope).
Here is the time line for the activities as we know it:

All weekend long starting Friday at 12:00 pm and ending Sunday at 12:00 pm every diver wants to participate will compete in the "Find the Presidents" game (a list of rules will be given at sign in) for a chance to win a free one year platinum insurance membership courtesy Diveasure.

Friday - We will be giving away tickets with your paid dive entry for a chance to win a dive mask courtesy DiveRite. You will also have a chance to practice the buoyancy and obstacle courses prior to the event on Saturday.

Saturday - We will be giving away tickets with your paid dive entry for a chance to win a dive mask courtesy DiveRite (yes one Friday and one Saturday). Every hour from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm there will be either a buoyancy or obstacle course contest (alternating one every hour). The prize for the obstacle course contest will be a Propack 32lbs back inflate BC courtesy of Oxycheq. The buoyancy contest will have a prize of DiveRite Fins with stainless steel spring straps.

Saturday night - Cookout:coffee:, fellowship:eyebrow:, and the long awaited karaoke :shakehead:.

Sunday - Pumpkin carving contest 8:00 - 11.00 am prize of DiveRite snorkel w/dry top. The "Find the Presidents" award of the platinum dive insurance membership from Diveasure will be given at 12:00 pm , also at 12:00 pm will be the raffle for Captain Ron Sprigs.

I’m sure a lot of you know Capt. Ron Spriggs, but for those who do not allow me to tell you a little about him, Ron is more than just a local dive boat captain, dive instructor, father and friend; he is the kind of man that will always try his best to be helpful in any way possible to every person he meets. Ron is known for his ability to make everyone around him feel at ease with his great personality and his sense of humor. Now Capt. Ron needs our help, in April he was diagnosed with a brain tumor that has changed his life. If you talk to Ron he will “downplay” the effects that this condition has on his life. The truth is these treatments and eventual brain surgeries are very costly. The staff and owners of Vortex Diving Center LLC, have come together to raffle off a DiveRite Hurricane Regulator (first and second stage value $599.00) in our appreciation and love for this kind man. We ask that everyone purchase a raffle ticket for just $10.00 for a chance to with this awesome prize.

P.S. I will also need some volunteers to play the part of judges for the different events. Please call, email, or pm me for details.

Great Shane! Its sounds like you're pulling out the stop. Can't wait. I can help judge as well.

WOW, sounds pretty awesome Shane! :D

I can probably help judge stuff in the water either Saturday evening or Sunday morning. I'm not sure when I'll get in Saturday afternoon, but I'll definately be around Sunday morning(I can get a cave dive in earlier :D ).
