I'm new to scuba and these boards so just wondering.....can anyone come? what about newbies with only a few dives?[/QUOT

I am bringing our family along to meet some new people and get more experience with my diving. I am only just OW certified and will be going along with my other half who is more experienced diver and our two kids (who don't dive). We are camping and I have reserved sites 13 and 15.

So tell us wise diving Gods and Godesses, what do you want us noobs to bring along as an offering???:beer:

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO THE FEST!!!!

Glad you and your family will be joining us! There are a few springs that are an easy dive for newer divers. Vortex, Morrison, and Jackson Blue. This is a great place to get in practice and many of us love to get wet for any reason. We are happy to help you if you need to work on some skills or just to have some fun!

When it comes to the GRUB and BREWS...bring what ya like! There is a big grill which we all share and have great laughs cooking up the MEAT! Since this is our German fest, you can bring some good GERMAN FOOD! But we aren't picky and eat anything! As far as I have heard, there will be entertainment and other surprises!

Hey Carolyn,
Has a decision been made on the shirts? I kinda like the pic you posted here. Leave the Leder Hosen on him, add fins, mask, etc. Voila, very Vortoberfest-ish.

I'm back! I've been without internet for awhile, but I cannot wait for Vortoberfest. It's going to be a blast! Caroline, sign me up for a shirt when you get them done up. Denise, are we going to try to hit Morrison's this year? We've gotta actually get a dive in together! I haven't gotten my campsite reserved yet, but my friend Cindy and I plan to be there Friday evening in time for dinner if everything works out. She's always late, though, so keep your fingers crossed that we'll be on time and that I won't miss the exit on 65 in Montgomery...again....:blinking:

Wonderful! then I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. I'll probably wait until that Saturday to go as I live less than 2 hours away. I wonder what all this rain is doing to the springs this week. It's been raining since Friday off and on and raining again this morning.
I could always bring some deer meet to throw on the grill.

Planning to go to JB on Saturday again, dive off a boat or stay at Vortex and/or do Morrison?

If we plan to dive from a boat, I'd rather do that on Saturday as diving from land at JB is easier/quicker for an early start on the road back home on Sunday.

Comon, you know you want to take a dip into Vortex! The cave is fun!
