two of us central Fl conchs are heading north to dive D Vortex. I am cavern cert. he is ow adv.

Anyone available and interested in joining us? We will be there all day and long enough to do a night dive.

We are also open to recommendations for lodging.

The Super 8 at the Defuniak Springs exit is much nicer and only 15 miles further. It is about the same (rates) as the Ponce Motor Lodge but much more comfortable. Wish I could meet you guys to dive but I have to work occasionally.

I have the same problem,
sometimes my work requires me to show up occasionally.

i might actually be able to join you guys, what time are you planning on being there? Also, rent a cabin (only $50 per night); all you need is your own linens and not caring about walking across the camp ground to use the bathroom/shower. You can also stay in their rooms with a bathroom but the cabins are fine...

I may be able to join you also. I am new diver (9 ows) and have been to vortex before. I bought a new bc and have been itching to get it "dialed in". I may drag a buddy or two also. We'll leave the cave diving to you guys - I like the sky too much (for now).

I plan on arriving sometime between 9:30 and 10 am. my dive buddy Church will be there sometime about that time too. I'll try to pick up some charcoal and some burgers to grill for lunch.

I usually stay at the Best Western in Ponce de Leon. Great bar there.
