Ok, I'm going to be headed back up towards Indiana tomorrow. Which site is better to hit on the trip back Vortex or Morrison?

Morrison is probably still somewhat flooded with the river levels being so high. Vortex might be your safest bet for a "sure thing" dive. Since they are only 10 minutes apart, I would drive over to Morrison first and check conditions. If you don't cavern dive...then Morrison won't have a lot to see when the water is still messed up from the river flooding.

Better for what? Morrison is green water, more in the woods, while Vortx is really lear, and has some "toys."

Morrison is only green when the waters are up. Its every bit as blue as Vortex or Ginnie when the water levels allow.

All that being said, the water is black right now, Morrison is flooded. Hell, Vortex is flood controlled by a 'dam' of sorts and a big waterpump, but they damned near had a levee collapse, which would have flooded Vortex(it didn't happen and its still blue).

We had record high water levels, most of the springs in North Florida are having issues right now, not in just the panhandle, but the entire state.

Thanks all. We hit Vortex. The place was very crowded, but we were able to see the eels. It was a nice place to thoroughly rinse our gear.

Had a great time in Florida, we were lucky to hit the Oriskany on Thursday, the Strength on Friday, and Vortex on our way home on Saturday.
