I've been getting Laguna and Malibu mixed up, so here it is again the way I meant to say it:
I'm in the area visiting my in-laws and would like to dive the Laguna area next week Tuesday, 7/18, or Wednesday, 7/19. I'm especially interested in Wood's cove, but I'm game for anything Laguna has to offer. Someone very familiar with the area would be great. It will be my first time there. Any takers?
I'll be away during this weekend, so if someone comes forward during that time, I'll be sure to get back with you on Monday to make arrangements. Watch for PMs here. Thanks.

Depending on how work is next week I might be able to squeeze a early morning dive in on Wednesday.
I'll let you know as we get closer

I'm not extremely familiar with the area (dived a couple of the laguna locations before), but I'd like to tag along if that's allright.

Russell

I'd be happy to dive with you next week in the late afternoon, around 4pm. Or, if you're an early riser, 5:30am would work too.

Re Wood's Cove, it is best to dive there when it is high tide due to all of the rocks. This is pretty true with all of south Laguna. Woods is one of my favorite spots when conditions are good.

Montage aka Treasure Island is really nice too. It's fairly shallow allowing for maximum bottom time.

Alternatives would be Cress/ Mountain Street (parking could be a pain); Shaw's Cove; or Cresent...all in which I'm very familiar with.

PM me if interested.

Glycerin,
How early would "early" be do you think?
Thanks for the response and I hope we can plan a dive. Do keep me posted here when you have a better idea. The earliest I could start would be 9 am.

Russell,
What times would you be available. You're welcome to come along as far as I'm concerned. In fact, we could just as well buddy up even if there are no other divers at that time of day. I'm up for doing a few dives that day (whichever day works out. Looks like Wednesday at this point). I'll let you know.

Jan, I have PMed you.

Thanks to all.

I'm currently unemployed...so that makes timing really easy! :D

9:00 sounds good to me, since I'm no early riser.

Russell, I have sent you a PM. I am still waiting to hear from "glycerin".
Jan, I have also sent you another PM. Basically, I will be gone this weekend but will be back on Monday to see if either, or both, of you are ready to finalize plans for Wednesday.
I hope to be able to meet both of you and share some great dives on Wednesday.
Thanks.

I'm not going to know for a few days so make plans without me.
Hopefully I'll be able to tag along :)

Here's the plan: Diving on Wednesday, July 19th meeting around 4:00pm at Wood's Cove. Tide will be coming in. It's going to be a 6.1 at 6:30pm, so tide will be moderately high for us.

Wood's is limited on parking, so we will check it out and see what it's like. If it's stellar, we could park up on Coast Hwy and walk down. If not...Plan B.

Plan B: Montage aka Treasure Island in South Laguna. Bring quarters for parking. I think the meter will take $1 bills too. Can't remember. Due to tide being high, this would be a good place to dive as well with usually ample amount of parking available.

AH, summer parking in Laguna during the Pageant of the Masters! In the afternoon no less!! :banghead:
