We will be heading to Austin in February for some work stuff, but want to go to the coast to play for a few days afterwards. While we are on the coast, we'd like to try to get some dives in. We both generally always bring our gear, except tanks, when we dive on vacations, so that wouldn't change here. Ideally, we would like to be in Galveston or Corpus Christi areas, with Galveston being a little easier to get good flights home with no layovers on our preferred airline because of the proximity to Houston.

Would you locals have any good suggestions for dive charters/operators that can accommodate us? We would have to go out on Friday or Saturday because of the flights home to NY. We'd like to start at least booking the airfare and hotels sooner than later, because our dates for being able to squeeze in this trip are very specific and limited.

Thanks all for your help!

You might see if Fling has plans for that weekend - nothing on the calendar yet. Although it doesn't look good, this year they cancelled weekend trips in February 3 consecutive weeks - IDK why. Fling Charters

The Flower Gardens would be the ticket, but don't think any trips going on in February. Don't thinks there's much of any diving in this area in February.

Good luck with that. The Fling schedules weekend trips to Flower Gardens in February but the go rate is less than 25%. I know a day boat operator that might go if conditions are ok but that time of year it is usually rough and the cold.

You could also look into diving the Texas Clipper from S. Padre or you could always hop a three hour flight to Cozumel.
