I looked on the Micorsoft Windows Update site, but I never could find anything on Windows 98 being affected. Is this just infecting the newer software (i.e., NT, 4.0, 2000, etc.)?

Thanks Everyone! Much appreciated!:)

Hello,

I maintain at least 20 linux firewalls for various companies. Linux is great for the server arena but fails miserably when it comes to the desktop enviroment. Besides linux has it's own problems you contend with on a day to day basis.

Just go to the task manager and find the MSBLAST.EXE process...kill it. Problem solved until you can clean up the virus and download the patches.

If you have the worm and your system is being shut down by the NT authority do the following.

Goto to the run button and type cmd, and hit enter.

At the command line type:

shutdown /a

then hit enter. THis will abort the shutdown.

Good Luck
