Just wanted to let people know about another Virus Alert Hoax that is making its way around. This hoax tells you to search your hard drive for a file called: jdbgmgr.exe. Then it tells you to search for and delete it.

This is a hoax. The jdbgmgr file is a windows operating system file that is used in java programming debugging. The virus alert is a hoax. Don't delete the file.

You can get more information by using a search engine (goggle, yahoo, etc) and searching for "jdbgmgr.exe" . This will give you numerous sources on what the deal is and even instructions for how to re-install the file if you have already deleted it.

I recently received a "Virus Alert" from a friend of mine concerning this very thing. The first thing I did was go to the following web site http://www.mcafee.com/anti-virus/default.asp and did a look around for the file that I was told to delete. I soon found out that the "Virus Alert" was a hoax. I sent a copy of that web-site to every one who had received the same e-mail from my friend and received several replies thanking me for alerting them to the hoax.

Anytime I receive a "Virus Alert", the first thing I do is to check whether it is a hoax or not. 99% of the time, they are hoaxes.

Put the above web-site in your favorites list and you too can check for yourself.
