I have the Mexicana poster with the divers in the above post! Sadly, it’s in storage while we live in temporary housing!

Gahhhh that poor turtle. Crazy to think that was appropriate advertising in the not so distant future.

Good Lord! You're right. I didn't notice that but it appears they were spear fishing and shot that turtle through the neck as part of their bounty. Different times indeed back then. It would be interesting to know what year Air Mexicana released that poster. Judging by the swimsuits and gear I'd guess it was in the 1970's?

Hes also holding a small Nausau grouper, which i just read are currently considered "critically endangered", and that star fish is also endangered in some regions.

Lots of things were different in those days. I snorkeled in Chankanaab Lagoon 43 years ago.
