wondering if anyone can help me with information on the age and maker of this depth gauge and do these have any value?if so what's appropriate value?,

I have one just like it. I think I paid $10.

The compass and lens assembly can be removed from the depth gauge as a single piece, after unscrewing the bezel. Then you can drill the back of the lens (it's plastic), top off the fluid, and close up the hole with epoxy. Result is a nice working unit.
 
Welcome Sterling castle, Your Compass/200ft combination is from the 1950' and was from the Japanese company Y.C.M. the instrument also appeared in "White Stag /US Diver" equipment catalogues of the day. Plus a similar gauge could be found by the "Admiral" company. att image.
