I am looking for directions and dive spots in Venice for shark tooth hunting. I live in Cape Coral. Can anyone help.

Welcome to Scuba Board

hey, Caggman. Here's directions. I'm not sure how Sunday is going to turn out, though, but several of us are there on just about any given weekend. Unless the situation turns to hopeless, I'm planning to go (sunday).

To get to the pier:

Head to Venice on I 75. Take exit 193 and head SW (coming from the south that’s a left turn) on Jacaranda. Turn right on Venice Ave. Stay on Venice Ave until after you’ve crossed the bridge to the downtown area. Turn left at the second light after the bridge (Harbor). Stay on Harbor until you see the sign on the right for Sharky's and Venice Fishing Pier.

Dive well away (100 yds or so) from the pier. People are fishing there, you don't want to get hooked and they don't want you to scare fish away. I prefer the south side, but others swear by the north side of the pier.

If it is your first time, go see Steve at Florida West Scuba in Venice Beach. He knows his stuff and you migt want to see if he has a spot open on his boat.

Howdy and welcome to SB!

You've been moved to the Florida fourm so you should get great help....

Good to have you here. Click here to PM me if I can help you get started in our various forums.
