I've learned never to be surprised by anything about these animals.

They're amazing.

If I hadn't seen octopuses change similar to that with my own eyes, I would say it was done on a computer (morphing). However I'm still not sure about that particular clip.

There was a recent NPR / CBC radio spot where they talked about the octopuses which walk on 2 legs and disguise themselves as cocnut shells.

Funny thing, a few people I e-mailed the link think that it's a fake based on the octopus' movements and reactions?! Any thoughts on that? Can it be? Can they really move and change their bodies like that???

Absolutely, I've seen it more than once, but startled each time.

I am convinced that an a Octopus was the basis for image/effect of the creature in Arnold's movie, "Predator".
