It's always fun to be part of those dramas . . . I was diving in the San Juan Islands in October, and saw a beautiful kelp greenling, a fish I adore because their coloring is so lovely. As I painted her with my light, a dark shadow leapt over my shoulder and WHAM! A three foot ling cod had caught my lovely greenling. I felt terribly guilty about having fingered her for assassination . . .No video or even photographs, unfortunately. You were luckier!
 
The fish got away because it was aware of the eel all along, saw it stalking and was prepared to evade.

Watch the video again to see I may be wrong but it appeared that way to me.
