Howdy and welcome to Scubaboard. :admingreet:

I've read about an abundance of whales there in the news. Lucky you...!!

Great stuff.

A few years ago I was diving Church Rock on the back side of Catalina in pretty murky conditions. I sensed something big in the water and crawled into a crevice to continue filming since we were ion known great white territory. When I finally surfaced, everyone on the boat yelled "Did you get video of it?" I said "No, you saw the great white?" They laughed and said there had been a baby gray whale above me (in about 35 ft of water) for about 20 minutes. I never saw it.

Thnx for posting

I sensed something big in the water and crawled into a crevice to continue filming since we were in known great white territory. I was running low on air but I always have my knife with me. I didn’t know it at the time, but there had been a baby gray whale above me (in about 35 ft of water) for about 20 minutes. I never saw it. When I finally surfaced, everyone on the boat yelled "Did you get video of it?" I said "No, you saw the great white?" They laughed…
