Someone once said "Shale Island is essentially Breakwater Deep." It's one of those sites you tend to only visit when conditions are bad everywhere else. I think it'd be a great area to explore on a nice viz day.

It is. It's not a penalty box dive. We go there pretty regularly.

But I wouldn't call it "Breakwater Deep". It's a whole different
ecosystem.

Nice video. Visibility out at hopkins looked great.

Kathy did look to a have a little bit of a guilty look after trying to catch that metridium on fire.

So that is what Hopkin's Deep looks like! Thanks for the video! My dive there looked like your second boat dive with about 2 feet of viz and lots of surge, a few years ago. Glad to finally see the Metridium covered rocks there.
