Epoque has a new light called the EL-1225. It looks like you can select between 4200 and 5500 degrees K. Does anyone have thoughts or advice on this type of light?

How does this sound?

-Make live exposure corrections without flash
-No synchronization issues
-more dives per set of batteries
-camera won't heat up as much in housing without using flash.

I might be wrong, but I doubt a video light would output enough light to make it useful for anything other than a focussing light.

You can read about that light here.
Take note that most of the advertising leans towards using it as a focus and video light.
The text in the dark box states "You can get better auto focus, video capture and some still images with one light source". The key words there are SOME STILL IMAGES.
While I think it may be of use for taking video clips with a still digital camera, I don't think it can match the quality results of a strobe for still photos.
Perhaps having one of thes in addition to a good strobe may come in handy for the video clips.
