Hello,
I have a question, if any of you happens to have any Aqualung/Seaquest maintenance knowledge.
While washing my Pro QD i3 BC last night, I have noticed that if the BC is inflated and submerged in the bath, there is a small flow of bubbles coming from the base of the i3 lever (not from the base of the whole i3 system, but from the base of the moving lever). Basically, I am talking about between 2-3 bubbles per second to 1 bubble at each 2-3 seconds, depending on how I move the lever arround its neutral central position. The bubbles are very small (like 1-2 milimeters in diameter).
The BC holds air fine (I left it inflated over night, first night submerged and the second night hanged. After 48 hours, it still holds the maximum pressure (there is no noticeable pressure drop in the bladder). I cannot (in the most dead silence) hear any air leaking sound from the i3 lever. Still, the bubbles leaked the whole night while submerged, and they still leak if I submerge it again.
I guess that probably there is an o-ring on the base of the lever that leaks. Unfortunatelly I have no Aqualung service center nearby (the only one disappeared and my LDS will become Aqualung certified in autumn.
My question is what do you think about such a leak - does it has any importance, or should I just ignore it? My thoughts are to monitor it carefully and see how it develops in time.
