Versa Pro download / cable question

I've got a Versa Pro that came with the serial download cable. It works great but can only be used with the old Oceanic software (serial cable not recognized by latest Beta software).

I picked up a USB cable from my LDS and the new (Beta) software recognized the "USB Serial Connection" but the Versa Pro computer will not transmit / synchronize with the Beta software ("Connection Timed Out"). Do I need a software upgrade to utilize the latest Dive Log software (Beta) or am I out of luck?

you may have the wrong cable you need the version 1 usb cable.
