Well I did venice beach today with a kayak and I got my A%& KICKED trying to get past the surf, I ended up putting on my fins and pulling the kayak past the surf (sandbar)then getting in and going the rest of the way, I didn't know how far to go and ended up in only 22' deep.
Vis was 1' at best and I only found 15 teeth, one 3" meg that is broken, the rest were little teeth.

Well, you know the saying...A bad day diving beats a good day at work.

You didn't mention the jellies, so I'm guessing you didn't see many. That's a good thing.

Where did you put in? 22' is about as deep as you'll see unless you get a mile or more off shore. Although there are some slight depressions I've seen off Golden Beach where I've hit 25 or 26' a few hundred yards offshore.

I didn't see any jellies at all.

I put in at Alhambra.

i haven't been out there, but the wind has been from the right direction for the last day or so, it might not be too bad. Are you strictly a week-day diver? If the weather is decent, I'll be there with my kayak this weekend.

My only free days now are Monday and Wednesday.
