venice beach logistical advice

We're taking the small inflatable out of Venice Beach, a mile or so from the pass I think. We're staying at the Oscar Scherer SP. Anyone have advice on whether to put in on the north side or south side of the pass? What's available?

You are going to launch from a beach, right; not thru the inlet?
There are several nice parks both N and S of the pier; which are S of the inlet.
Where you launch depends on what you are looking to do. Spearfish? Shark Teeth? Macro?

If you plan on using an inflatable you can put in from shore at the main area of Venice Beach or about a 1/4 south where it's more popular for Shark Teeth.
