Continued from last month and the month before that:
Intro
from CoolTech:
There appears to be enough concern about the conditions, and enough people near VB willing to report them.

This seemed like a logical thread for requests and reports.

Well, it needed to be started :D , and we are going to Venice Friday morning early.

ok, early for me anyway, hopefully before 8am which should be light enough with
time change, i hope.

anybody know what conditions are today?

Odiferous. It came on Halloween and was worse yesterday than today. Yesterday you could tell the beach was loaded with carcass, without even walking out there.

Today, the water settled and the wind turned. Hope tomorrow is even better. Let us know what you find.

Teaches me to fall on my face... get up and realize it wasn't my face I fell on!

We need to add this info to the top!

Got an afternoon dive in with FL. West today, while they did student checkout dives.

water temp 74
vis 5'-10' in places
seas were flat with a strong east wind
no signs of red tide

got a few beat up megs, a nice mako, a horse tooth, whale ear bone, a couple nice tigers.and about 150 small teeth

Got in the water today just before 9am, from south side of public beach
south of the single pipe -- no other flags

winds around 15 from the south
light rain but it pretty well stopped before we hit the water
water was a little choppy with 1-2 foot waves going in, but

vis was better than i expected 10-15 ft until we got to 21' or so
then it dropped to 5 ft, but still not bad at all especially with being
and overcast day. found a few teeth and a jellyfish.

coming in waves were up 3-4 ft as well as the wind

i think we'll try further south and out on friday or saturday
