Intro:
There is enough concern about the conditions, and enough people near VB willing to report them.

This thread is for requests, reports and general get-a-pal alternatives to diving alone in the great white south. meet new solo buddies and get to know each other over a pizza afterwards during this great southern diving experience!

Water temps reported as of May 1 - 72 deg F

Conditions Report from Mote:

I was at Venice beach today, about 3 NM offshore from the pier, in an official capacity (sucks having a job that "requires" ya to go out on boats) and viz was about 15+, water temp about 72.

Dove Alhambra this morning. Got in the water @ 1015. Conditions were absolutely gorgeous. Vis was an easy 15, if not closer to 20 and even 25 in some areas. Even near shore, it was 10+. Water temp was 78. Very little chop and no surge. Headed out 210 deg. from the pipes. There were six other flags in the water and that was the only clear spot! Went out to 23 ft., found two smallish broken megs and the usual double handful of smaller teeth. No manatees this dive. Too bad...I really had a blast playing with them on Monday.

Just got back from 2 dives at Service Club,
Vis 20'+
temp 77

only got 2 megs, 1 posterior choc top that's prefect
got about 500 small teeth with some nice makos, hemis and tigers

this will be one of the best weekends to do Venice

Can we replace the Venice April sticky with the May?

Thanks

Does anyone know how to get to the boneyard? I've done several shore dives and was wondering if going to the boneyard was much different? Do you have to take a boat or is it swimable if your in good shape?
