Hey, I'm headed to Vegas in not too long with some buddies and have heard a couple of the hotels have some pretty amazing aquariums. Do any of them offer diving in them, like the Disney World thing?

The closest diving you'll find to Vegas is at Lake Mead. You might catch the occasional diver in one of the tanks, but they're just cleaning up. To be honest, most of those tanks are fairly small and overstocked with fish. The aquarium at the Mandalay is pretty cool, and big enough to dive, but they don't allow diving there either. As for Lake Mead, it's not really worth diving unless you just want something different to do in the mornings and want to get wet. There's not much to see and with the water level so low, you won't get much more than a gentle sloping bottom of sand and silt. If you have time, head south to Lake Mohave (about 90 minutes) and do a couple of dives at Cabinsite. That's worth the time and effort.

I've been in some real dives there.

Is that what you were asking? :eyebrow:

You could always dive the B-29 in lake mead for an easy $450

Or wait a year and hike to it...

Of course, they'll probably require a special permit for that, too...

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll check look at the sharks in the Mandalay Bay aquarium and save my diving for another destination. I just read someone's post about how Disney World has a nice aquarium they let people dive in for $150 or so and was hoping Mandalay or someone would offer something similar. Oh well.
