Im going to try to catch my own dinner in the ocean in the Vancouver region. I have heard that there is scalops, prawns and the sort. So what im trying to figure out is if they are in the vancouver area and where they can be caught. If anybody has experience in this, a bit of help would be great. Also I got a lance and wondering what kind of fish is hiding in the ocean here?

Try catching spotted prawns. Go at night, bring a catch bag and don't let the horn stab you! Dazzle them with a light in one hand and come up behind and pin them with the other. Takes a bit of practice, but your'll get it.

That is great thanks. Im glad to hear that they are here. Where do you normally go to catch them? and what time of year is best? and at aprox what depth?

They are all over right now. Look for sandy bottoms. I'm even seeing them on walls. Anywhere from 15ft down past 100.

Go to the hair care section of a store find a afro pick with Stainless prongs. Sharpen the prongs, attach handle to a 24"-30" wooden dowel. Dazzle them with the light them stick-em from above between the tail section and head section. Pin them down for a few seconds them bag em. watch the horn.
