This probably pertains to most valves and not just the valves on manifolds. Why do some valves seem to have the small tube coming out of the bottom of the valve while others don't. This would be inside the tank when the valves were on so nobody would know either way so maybe it's way more common than I know. Is one style better than the other?

It is called a dip tube. The idea is that when the cylinder is inverted if there is junk or water in the cylinder it will not enter and plug the valve. It is a std. safety feature that should be on a valve. If missing they can be replaced.

Interesting and thanks for the info. I'll have to look at mine when I get viz done on them. Strange that it seems there are plenty of valves on the market that don't have the tube. Possibly they just are not on them for internet pictures?!

Possibly, as they are shipped from the mfg uninstalled. If buying used I would ask if they are included. If not I would subtract the replacement cost off the price.
